Holiday Hours, Mall by Mall
Checked November 1, 2026 on each mall's own hours page. Malls add and change holiday hours through the season, so we re-check this page every week until New Year's. Where a mall hasn't posted a day yet, the table says so. Individual stores and restaurants can keep different hours from the mall, especially department stores.

Thanksgiving Day: Posted Malls Are Closed
Woodfield Mall, Water Tower Place, Fashion Outlets of Chicago, Chicago Premium Outlets and Gurnee Mills are closed on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 26. Oakbrook Center and 900 North Michigan haven't posted Thanksgiving hours yet. Black Friday doors open the next morning.
Black Friday Opening Times
Woodfield Mall, Fashion Outlets of Chicago, Chicago Premium Outlets and Gurnee Mills open at 6am and close at 9pm on Friday, Nov. 27. Water Tower Place on Michigan Avenue opens at 9am and closes at 8pm.
Oakbrook Center and 900 North Michigan have not posted Black Friday hours yet. Their pages show regular hours only.
Woodfield opens at 8am on Saturday, Nov. 28, and at 9am from Dec. 19 to Dec. 23.
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's
On Christmas Eve (Thursday, Dec. 24), Woodfield and Gurnee Mills are open 8am–6pm, Fashion Outlets of Chicago 9am–6pm, Water Tower Place 10am–6pm, and Chicago Premium Outlets 8am–5pm. All five are closed on Christmas Day.
On New Year's Eve, Woodfield, Gurnee Mills and Fashion Outlets of Chicago are open 10am–6pm. On New Year's Day, Woodfield and Gurnee Mills are open 10am–6pm. Water Tower Place and Chicago Premium Outlets haven't posted New Year's hours yet, and Fashion Outlets of Chicago hasn't posted New Year's Day.
Independent Shops and Shopping Streets
Independent shops in Andersonville, Wicker Park, Lincoln Square and Pilsen set their own holiday hours. Many close on Thanksgiving and open for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28; check the shop's own page or Instagram before a special trip. Each shop page on this site shows the hours we last checked.
